This is just somewhere for me to post random things I bump into on the Internet. Probably, more often that not, these will be music-related. Maybe something will interest you?

In a way, Editors have sorta gone downhill...
...but this b-side is pretty incredible. Should have been on their latest album. I love Editors - not many bands put as much heart and soul into their music like Tom Smith does. Let's just hope their next album is different but better than In This Light and On This Evening.

Party time
Went to Brixton last night to a small club where The Maccabees did a DJ set. Admittedly the set wasn't amazing but this song stood out for some reason. A surprisingly amazing song to dance to!

I feel you beating in my chest
So I've finally graduated from Cardiff University with a music degree. It's weird, I know I was working towards it but didn't really hit me that one day I would actually be walking up to collect my award, dressed in my graduation robes. That one day being yesterday.
Yesterday made me realise several things. I'm still very much camera shy. My parents are more amazing than I can possibly imagine. And I'm not in love with my ex girlfriend.
I won't delve into the last point much but it's quite an important thing for me, considering we were going out for nearly a year and a half (which is basically half of my time in Cardiff) and we spent a lot of time together. A LOT. She was my best friend and I didn't want to lose that, no matter what happened. But things change, as they do, We got bored, annoyed, angry and upset and we fell apart not only as lovers but as friends. Thing is, I was more upset about losing her as a friend than as a lover. The worst thing was, she didn't seem that much affected by it. Four days after we broke up, she started seeing someone else. And then they broke up. And she started seeing someone else. And then they broke up.
Really, what was the point? She said she regretted getting with these guys which makes it even worse. I'd rather she be happy with her actions than do them just to try and make herself feel happy and me feel bad.
She has a talent for remembering lyrics very fast. Usually after one listen of a song, she'll know all the words. Let's see.

A nice mix
What do you get when you cross one of my favourite bands with one of my favourite solo artists? This.

Yes please
Hasn't it been a great month or two for new music? Foals, Kylie, Kele, Muse... (*cough* - let's actually forget Neutron Star Collision ever existed). Now, we have Arcade Fire. The Reading and Leeds lineup don't look too amazing this year but I'm sure Arcade Fire will be a brilliant headliner. Especially with this gem.

Retro
Music like this makes me wish I was 7 years old again, when I got my first game console - the SNES. :)
Good times. Gotta love the nostalgia.

Let's get this party started
So while Bloc Party are on a hiatus, Kele Okereke has decided to fully pursue his lifelong passion - dance
music. Bloc Party's third effort, 'Intimacy', gave us a little sample into what they were capable of in terms of
fusing electronics and rock music together, but Kele has now gone solo to create a dance album - 'The Boxer'.
It's out Monday and, whilst I was rather apprehensive about it at first, I think it's going to be an amazing
summer album for Bloc Party fans and dance lovers alike.
